ARCH201 studio design (2017-2018)
The starting point of my project was to make a rhythmic design without a single building in accordance with the project concept. In my initial design ideas, the building was more fragmented and scattered than its current state. This fragmentation affected the relationship between the building next door and other buildings due to the lack of adjacent order, so I changed my design to become a fragmented whole. When I designed this building, I worked in units and the project consisted of 4 main units: recording & rehearsal rooms, classrooms, music store and café. The garden rooftop café and open-air stage were important for me so that people could use the music center in a multi-purpose and desirable way, so I designed a top cover that started from the garden entrance and showed the garden. When I designed this structure, I was inspired by the piano keys and tried to keep the light of the garden too much by using the shade elements I used in my facade and to provide a unity with the building.
