ARCH301 studio design (2018-2019)

The project site is located in Küçükbakkalköy, Ataşehir. When I visit the site for my analysis, the biggest problem of the area that I observed was the chaos because of the traffic and the lack of pedestrian crossing. Although the neighbourhood has lots of opportunities such as variety of transportation and majority of young population, spaces were not sufficiently designed so they were undefined.So, my design approach was to solve the inaccessibility problem by creating axies in the project area and while doing this, provide the gathering space especially for young population. The shape of the design helps to connect streets, access to the transportation but also define the spaces. The project consists of four interconnected buildings (both from above and below). I prefered the glass facades for the buildings and gathered the closed spaces in a corridor. So this provides a center for the gathering events.
